Dave MacKenzie 41 1 (1530) [ English ] The Chair (Mr. Dave MacKenzie (Oxford, CPC)) : Order. Because we have bells ringing, it means the committee has to rise to go back to the House for a vote. The bells ring for a total of 30 minutes, and then there's a vote. I am estimating that we should be back here at about 4:15. I apologize to the witnesses who are here; however, where the decision was made, it's at a different pay level than we're at— Voices: Oh, oh! The Chair: We will leave the committee. There is coffee and some fruit and such. We should be back at about 4:15. Ms. Boivin. Ms.

Françoise Boivin (Gatineau, NDP) : Just so they all know, we won't finish with them at 4:30 p.m. We'll go till 5:30 p.m. with the witnesses. The Chair : Yes. What we had scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30, we've put off until next Tuesday, so— Ms. Françoise Boivin : So we can listen to all of you. The Chair : We'll stand down till we come back.

(1620) The Chair : We'll call the meeting back to order momentarily. We have a little problem, in that there are going to be other bells and other votes today. I have talked with the opposition side, and I think the best way to do this is that we will adjourn today's meeting and we will reconvene on Tuesday. We would certainly like to invite you to come back on Tuesday. We understand that this may be a problem, but Tuesday's meeting will be held at 3:30 in the same room. I know that if we start, we will probably end up stopping, and I don't think that's fair to the witnesses.

I don't think it's fair to ask you to come back on Tuesday either, but I think it's the better option for us. With the consent of everybody here, we'll adjourn today's meeting and reconvene on Tuesday. The meeting is adjourned.
