I am ready to receive motions to that effect. [ Translation ] Mr. Garneau, over to you. Mr. Marc Garneau (Westmount—Ville-Marie, Lib.) : Madam Clerk, I would like to nominate Mr. Michael Chong as chair. [ English ] The Clerk : Are there any further motions? Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion? (Motion agreed to) The Clerk: I declare the motion carried and Mr.

Chong duly elected chair of the committee. Before inviting Mr. Chong to take the chair, I will proceed to the election of the first vice-chair. I am prepared to receive motions to that effect. Mr. Wallace. Mr. Mike Wallace (Burlington, CPC) : I move Anthony Rota. The Clerk : Mr. Wallace moves that Anthony Rota be elected first vice-chair of the committee. [ Translation ] Are there any other motions? Is it the pleasure of the Committee to adopt this motion? [ English ] Is it the wish of the committee to adopt the motion? (Motion agreed to) The Clerk: I declare the motion carried and Mr.

Rota duly elected first vice-chair of the committee. I am now ready to receive motions for the nomination of second vice-chair. Mr. Lake moves that Mr. Bouchard be elected second vice-chair of the committee. [ Translation ] Are there any other motions? Is it the pleasure of the Committee to adopt the motion? (Motion agreed to) The Clerk : I declare Mr. Bouchard duly elected second vice-chair of the Committee. I invite Mr. Chong to take the chair. [ English ] The Chair (Hon. Michael Chong (Wellington—Halton Hills, CPC)) : Good morning. I assume that everyone wants to proceed with the planning of future business.

It's not on our orders of the day, but I assume we want to do that and use the next hour or so to do that. Okay.
