Mr. Brian Fitzpatrick (Prince Albert, CPC) : I'll nominate Mr. Murphy for the chair's position. The Clerk : Mr. Fitzpatrick nominates Mr. Murphy. Are there any other nominations? Are all in agreement? (Motion agreed to) The Clerk : Thank you. I declare Mr. Murphy elected. Some hon. members: Hear, hear!

The Clerk: We are now going to proceed to the election of vice-chairs. Are there nominations to that effect, for vice-chair? Mr. Marcel Proulx : Yes, I'll nominate Mr. Fitzpatrick. The Clerk : Mr. Proulx nominates Mr. Fitzpatrick. Are there any others? (Motion agreed to) The Clerk : Thank you. Is there a nomination for second vice-chair? Mr. Marcel Proulx : For second vice-chair, I nominate Mr. Laforest. The Clerk : Monsieur Proulx nominates Monsieur Laforest. Are all in agreement? Some hon. members: Oui. (Motion agreed to) The Clerk : Thank you. Merci. I invite the chair to take the chair.
