As wealth inequality grows, more media is privately owned, the spread of disinformation/misinformation, introduction of AI, and election interference from foreign governments continues, it's more important than ever for the CBC to continue as a source of trusted media for Canadians. The CBC is one of the few places I continue to turn to for news, from local to international.

It's also the one place I will recommend to my friends and family to use as a news source-- especially those who have a harder time vetting information themselves. Other folks who haven't had the privilege or ability to learn how to think critically will be even more susceptible to disinformation, particularly as AI makes it near impossible to vet information with the naked eye.
