MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Pursuant to the order of the Senate of November 25, 2021, the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs met this day in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference, at 4:16 p.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable Mobina S. B. Jaffer, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Clement, Dalphond, Pate and White (5).

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Campbell, Carignan, P.C., Cotter, Dawson, Dupuis, Jaffer and Wetston (7).

Other senators present by videoconference: The Honourable Senator Miville-Dechêne (1).

Participating in the meeting: Ferda Simpson, Procedural Clerk, Laurie-Anne Spooner, Administrative Assistant, Committees Directorate; Julian Walker and Michaela Keenan-Pelletier, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, the committee began its examination of Bill S-210,

An Act to restrict young persons' online access to sexually explicit material.

WITNESSES (by videoconference):

The Honourable Senator Julie Miville-Dechêne, sponsor of the bill.

At 5:22 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 5:27 p.m., the committee resumed.
