MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS OTTAWA, Tuesday, September 27, 2022 (10) [English] The Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met this day at a.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane Bellemare, presiding. Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Batters, Bellemare, Black, Busson, Cordy, Deacon (Ontario), Dean, Greene, Massicotte, Petitclerc, Ringuette, Saint-Germain and Wells (13). Participating in the meeting: Erin Virgint, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to rule 12-7(2)(a), the committee continued its consideration of possible amendments to the Rules. WITNESSES: Senate of Canada: Gérald Lafrenière, Interim Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of the Parliaments and Chief Legislative Services Officer; Till Heyde, Clerk Assistant, Chamber Operations and Procedure Office. Gérald Lafrenière made a statement and, together with Till Heyde, answered questions. At 9:31 a.m., the committee suspended. At 9:38 a.m., the committee resumed. The committee discussed a draft agenda (future business). At 10:28 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
