THE STANDING SENATE COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS

MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Leo Housakos, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cardozo, Clement, Dasko, Housakos, Miville-Dechêne, Quinn, Richards and Simons (8).

Participating in the meeting: Jed Chong and Sarah Lemelin-Bellerose, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on the impacts of climate change on critical infrastructure in the transportation and communications sectors and the consequential impacts on their interdependencies.

WITNESSES:

Canadian Propane Association:

Shannon Watt, President and Chief Executive Officer;

Royden Boudreau, Chair, Atlantic Canada Committee ( by videoconference ).

Oceanex Inc.:

Matthew Hynes, Executive Vice President.

Town of Amherst:

David Kogon, Mayor.

Municipality of Tantramar:

Andrew Black, Mayor.

Shannon Watt and Matthew Hynes each made a statement and, together with Royden Boudreau, answered questions.

At 7:39 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:43 p.m., the committee resumed.

David Kogon and Andrew Black each made a statement and answered questions.

At 8:24 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
