THE STANDING SENATE COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL AFFAIRS, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
ORDER OF REFERENCE
Extract from the Journals of the Senate of Wednesday, May 22, 2024:
The Honourable Senator Gold, P.C., moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator LaBoucane-Benson:
That, notwithstanding any provision of the Rules, previous order or usual practice, if Bill C‑50,
An Act respecting accountability, transparency and engagement to support the creation of sustainable jobs for workers and economic growth in a net-zero economy, is adopted at second reading:
it stand referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology;
the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources be authorized to examine and report on the subject matter of the bill; and
during its consideration of the bill, the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology be authorized to take into account any public document or evidence received by the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources during its study of the subject matter of the bill, as well as any report from that latter committee on the subject matter of the bill.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
