November 19, 2024 To whom it may concern, I understand that there is currently a review to examine the relevance of CBC and its services. I wanted to share my thoughts. I get 90% of my news coverage from CBC radio. It is a trusted source of information and journalistic integrity - in a world that is increasingly full of misinformation. They cover both national and local issues that would not otherwise see the light of day. Programs like Ideas are thought provoking and important. CBC music radio supports and nurtures Canadian talent that may otherwise not get noticed.

It is accessible to all people, no matter their means. Ditto for CBC television. Moreover, it has helped to define the cultural and journalistic character of this country. To lose it would be a great shame and would result in increasing mis-information, a deluge of others would attempt to fill the gap, resulting in a hodgepodge of sources without an overriding, national mandate to cover Canada and Canadian content.
