Order in Council 1404/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the position of Community Opportunities Advocate, known as the Advocate for Community Opportunities (“the Advocate”), was established by Order in Council 1718/2019, dated November 28, 2019; and extended by Order in Council 909/2022, dated April 1, 2022;

And

whereas by Order in Council numbered O.C. 1431/2022, dated November 3, 2022, the establishment of the Advocate’s position was further extended for a period ending no later than November 15, 2024;

And

whereas by Order in Council numbered O.C. 1322/2024, dated October 10, 2024, the establishment of the Advocate’s position was further extended for a period ending no later than November 15, 2026;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative power of His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario to appoint special advisors to serve His Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities;

Mohamed Firin of Etobicoke

is hereby reappointed as the Advocate to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a period not extending beyond November 15, 2026, effective the later of November 16, 2024 or the date this Order in Council is made.
