ELECTORAL DISTRICTS (RENAMING) AMENDMENT ACT, 2018

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the

Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Schedule 1 of the Electoral Districts Act, S.B.C. 2015, c. 39, is amended by striking

out " Peace River North " and substituting " Peace River-Northern Rockies ".

Consequential Amendments

(1) If the name of a constituency association for the electoral district named " Peace River North " refers to " Peace River North ", the name of the constituency association is, without further action, changed to

refer to " Peace River-Northern Rockies " instead of " Peace River North ".

(2) A reference to any Act, other than this Act, or in any regulation, rule, order,

by-law, agreement or other instrument or document, to the electoral district named

" Peace River North ", shall be read, unless the context otherwise requires, as a reference to the electoral

district named " Peace River-Northern Rockies ".

(3) A registration under the Election Act before the commencement of this subsection

for or in relation to the electoral district named " Peace River North " shall be deemed to be a registration for or in relation to the electoral district

named " Peace River-Northern Rockies ", and the Chief Electoral Officer shall change the registry accordingly.

(4) A publication under the Election Act before the commencement of this subsection

for or in relation to the electoral district named " Peace River North " shall be deemed to be a publication for or in relation to the electoral district

named " Peace River-Northern Rockies ".
