OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health and Wellness dated February 5, 2013, and (
a) pursuant to clause 4(1)(a), subsections 4(2) and 4(3) and
Section 6 of
Chapter 18 of the Acts of 2006, the Midwifery Act, is pleased to: (
i) appoint Amanda Ashe of Antigonish, Antigonish County; (ii) appoint Maren Dietz of Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, and (iii) appoint Theresa Pickart of Halifax Regional Municipality (Bald Rock), as members of the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia, recommended by the Association of Nova Scotia Midwives, for a term of three (3) years commencing on February 26, 2013; (
b) pursuant to clause 4(1)(b), subsections 4(2) and 4(3) and
Section 6 of
Chapter 18 of the Acts of 2006, the Midwifery Act, is pleased to appoint Michele J. Brennan of Halifax Regional Municipality (Porters Lake) as a member of the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia, recommended by the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia, for a term of three (3) years commencing on February 26, 2013; (
c) pursuant to clause 4(1)(c), subsections 4(2) and 4(3) and
Section 6 of
Chapter 18 of the Acts of 2006, the Midwifery Act, is pleased to appoint Anne Houstoun of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a member of the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia, recommended by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, for a term of three (3) years commencing on February 26, 2013; (
d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against the Members and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case; and (
e) order that Amanda Ashe, Maren Dietz, Theresa Pickart, Michele J. Brennan and Anne Houstoun be remunerated for their services and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses actually incurred carrying out business on behalf of the Council, as determined by the Council
