OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Acting Minister responsible for Sydney Steel Corporation, dated September 9, 1999, pursuant to

Section 8 of

Chapter 456 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Sydney Steel Corporation Act, is pleased to: (

a) effective August 16, 1999, accept the resignation and revoke the appointment of Manning MacDonald as a Director of Sydney Steel Corporation, which appointment was made by Order in Council 96-631, dated August 14, 1996; (

b) revoke the appointment of J. Allan Henderson of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as a Director of Sydney Steel Corporation, which appointment was made by Order in Council 1999-232, dated May 6, 1999; (

c) revoke the appointment of John Strasser of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, as a Director of Sydney Steel Corporation, which appointment was made by Order in Council 1999-232, dated May 6, 1999; (

d) appoint the following persons as Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation: Gordon D. Balser, Minister responsible for Sydney Steel Corporation; James W. Gogan of Woodburn, Pictou County; Edwin C. Harris, Q.C., of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; T. Peter Sodero, Q.C., of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality ; and Jacquelyn Thayer Scott, Ph.D., of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
