Section 1 of the Legal Aid Act,

chapter 26 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2014, is amended 1 L’article 1 de la

a) in the definition “person” by striking out “services” and substituting “services or a holder of a legal aid certificate”;

b) by adding the following definition in alphabeti- cal order:

Section 27 of the Act is amended 4 L’article 27 de la Loi est modifié (

a) in subsection (1) by striking out “in a manner prescribed by regulation”;

Section 28 of the Act is amended 5 L’article 28 de la Loi est modifié (

c) by repealing subsection (3) and substituting the following:

Section 32 of the Act is amended 7 L’article 32 de la Loi est modifié (

Section 42 of the Act is amended by striking out “an applicant for legal aid services” and substituting “an applicant for legal aid services or a holder of a legal aid certificate”. 8 L’article 42 de la Loi est modifié par la suppression de « le demandeur de services d’aide juridique » et son remplacement par « le demandeur de services d’aide ju- ridique ou le titulaire d’un certificat d’aide juridique ». 9

Section 46 of the Act is repealed and the following is substituted: 9 L’article 46 de la Loi est abrogé et remplacé par ce qui suit : 46(1) Every decision of the Board, including a deci- sion of the Appeals Committee, is final and may not be questioned or reviewed in any court. 46(1) Les décisions du conseil, y compris de son comi- té d’appel, sont définitives et ne peuvent être contestées ou révisées judiciairement. 46(2) Subject to a decision that may be appealed to the Appeals Committee, every decision of the Executive Di- rector is final and may not be questioned or reviewed in any court. 46(2)

Extension of time Prolongation des délais 47.1 The Executive Director may extend the period of time for doing any act or taking any proceeding under this Act and the regulations and this function may be ex- ercised although the application to extend is not made until after the expiration of the period of time. 47.1

Section 48 of the Act is amended 11 L’article 48 de la Loi est modifié (

section shall be deemed to have been employed under

section 56 the following: 13 La Loi est modifiée par l’adjonction de ce qui suit après l’article 56 : Panels Tableaux 56.1 A lawyer whose name was on a panel immedi- ately before the commencement of this

section under the Legal Aid Act,

chapter L-2 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, shall be deemed to have had his or her name on the panel under

section 33. 56.1 L’avocat dont le nom, immédiatement avant l’entrée en vigueur du présent article, était inscrit sur un tableau sous le régime de la
