OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated May 29, 2014, and pursuant to

Section 22 of

Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased to: (

a) re-appoint Eunice Harker of Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, as a commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a three (3) year term commencing June 26, 2014; (

b) designate Eunice Harker of Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, as Chair of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a three (3) year term commencing June 26, 2014; (

c) determine the remuneration of Eunice Harker be at the rate of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each half day spent at duly called meetings of the Commission and an additional $6,000.00 per year as Chair of the Commission for her term of office; and (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Eunice Harker and indemnify her from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of her activities in relation to her appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends her, the Province will be in control of the case.
