BILL 201 PROJET DE LOI 201 THE SERVICE AND THERAPY ANIMAL DAY ACT

WHEREAS service animals provide important assistance to persons with a wide range of disabili ties and impairments; AND

WHEREAS therapy animals offer social and emotional support in a variety of therapeutic setting s and provide companionship to residents in hospitals, personal care homes and other care facilities; AND

WHEREAS there is a need to recognize the important work provided by service animals and therapy animals; Attendu : que les animaux d'assistance offrent une aide considérable aux personnes ayant divers types de déficiences; que les animaux de zoothérapie offrent un soutien social et émotif dans des milieux thérapeutiques variés et qu'ils tiennent compagnie aux résidants d'hôpitaux, de foyers de soins personnels et d'autres établissements de santé; qu'il est nécessaire de reconnaître l'important travail qu'accomplissent les animaux d'assistance et de zoothérapie, THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows: SA MAJESTÉ, sur l'avis et avec le consentement de l'Assemblée législative du Manitoba, édicte : Service and Therapy Animal Day 1 In each year, May 20 is to be known throughout Manitoba as Service and Therapy Animal Day.
