Order in Council 930/2026

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Minister of Energy and Mines ("Minister") is committed to ensuring that Ontario has a reliable, affordable and clean electricity system, while continuing to find further cost efficiencies in the electricity sector;

And

whereas it is desirable that the Independent Electricity System Operator (" IESO ") assist the Government to ensure that Ontario continues to have an affordable, reliable and clean electricity system;

And

whereas the Minister may, with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, issue directives under

section 25.32 of the Electricity Act, 1998 that require the IESO to undertake a request for proposals and require the IESO to enter into contracts for the procurement of transmission systems or any part of such systems, including the development of all or part of such systems.

Now therefore the Directive attached hereto is approved.
