OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated November 9, 2000, pursuant to the Public Service Act, the

Interpretation Act, the Public Service Superannuation Act, the Civil Service Act and all other authority in her vested is pleased to: (

a) accept the resignation and revoke the appointment of Dr. Patricia Ripley as Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier, effective September 1, 2000, which appointment was made by Order in Council 1998-523 dated October 15, 1998; (

b) accept the resignation and revoke the appointment of Gordon Gillis as Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General, effective September 1, 2000, which appointment was made by Order in Council 97-393 dated June 17, 1997; (

c) accept the resignation and revoke the appointment of Robert A. MacKay as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, effective September 1, 2000, which appointment was made by Order in Council 1998-541 dated October 28, 1998; (

d) appoint Gordon Gillis as Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier and Deputy Minister of Communications Nova Scotia, effective September 1, 2000, on such terms and conditions of employment, including remuneration, as may be agreed to and approved by the Priorities and Planning Committee of the Executive Council; (

e) appoint Dr. Patricia Ripley as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, effective September 1, 2000, on such terms and conditions of employment, including remuneration, as may be agreed to and approved by the Priorities and Planning Committee of the Executive Council; (

f) appoint Douglas Keefe as Acting Deputy Minister of Justice and Acting Deputy Attorney General, effective September 1, 2000, and fix and determine his salary to be paid at such rate as may be determined by the Priorities and Planning Committee in accordance with the Management Compensation Pay Plan approved from time to time by the Governor in Council; (

g) accept the resignation and revoke the appointment of Dr. Patricia Ripley as Deputy Minister of the Priorities and Planning Secretariat, effective September 20, 2000, which appointment was made by Order in Council 1998-523, dated October 15, 1998; (

h) appoint Gordon Gillis as Deputy Minister of the Priorities and Planning Secretariat, effective September 20, 2000, on such terms and conditions of employment, including remuneration, as may be agreed to and approved by the Priorities and Planning Committee of the Executive Council; (

i) appoint Kevin McNamara as Deputy Minister of Environment and Labour, effective October 1, 2000, and fix and determine his salary to be paid at such rate as may be determined by the Priorities and Planning Committee in accordance with the Management Compensation Pay Plan approved from time to time by the Governor in Council; and (

j) designate the persons appointed under paragraphs (d), (e), (f), (

h) and (

i) hereof as Deputy Heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act and direct that they shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of Deputy Minister and further designate such persons to be and to have been employees for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
