EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of the Bill is to require the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to discharge the responsibility under subsection 15 (1) of the Ontario Water Resources Act to determine the zebra mussel content of specified waterways.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Investigation of zebra mussel content

1 The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks shall, under the provisions of subsection 15 (1) of the Ontario Water Resources Act , direct an investigation into the extent of the zebra mussel problem in the waterways specified in the Schedule.

Commencement

2 This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3 The

short title of this Act is the Zebra Mussel Examination Act, 2018 .
