Order in Council 1163/2016

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to

section 282 of the Insurance Act , all insurers licensed in Ontario that have issued motor vehicle liability policies in Ontario be assessed in each fiscal year beginning April 1, 2016, with respect to each insurer’s share of expenses and expenditures of the Licence Appeal Tribunal relating to disputes described in subsection 280(1) of the Insurance Act.

Each insurer's share of the assessment and the timing of the assessments shall be determined in accordance with Ontario Regulation 160/16 (Assessment of Expenses and Expenditures - Statutory Accident Benefits) made under

section 282 of the Insurance Act.
