Bill 13 Mr. Rodney BILL 13 2007 ACCESS TO THE FUTURE AMENDMENT ACT, 2007 ( A s s e n t e d t o , 2 0 0 7 ) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: Amends SA 2005 cA-1.5 1 The Access to the Future Act is amended by this Act. 2

Section 4 is amended (

a) by adding the following after subsection (1):

(1.1) The Minister (

a) shall administ er the Fund, and (

b) may approve grants, agreements and other payments from the Fund.

(1.2) Any income of the Fund accrues to and forms part of the Fund. (

b) by repealing subsections (3) and (8); (

c) in subsection (9) by repealing clause (

b) and substituting the following: (

b) respecting the administration of the Fund; 1

Explanatory Notes 1 Amends

chapter A-1.5 of the Statutes of Alberta, 2005. 2

Section 4 presently reads in part:

(3) The Minister shall administer the Fund, and any income of the Fund accrues to and forms part of the Fund.

(8) The Minister may make grants from the Fund to carry out the purposes of the Fund.

(9) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may make regulations (

a) respecting initiatives for the purpose of furthering the purposes of the Fund; (

b) respecting the circumstances and conditions under which a grant may be made from the Fund. 1 Explanatory Notes

c) respecting any other matter that the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers necessary to carry out the intent of this Act. 2
