EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000 to

modify the application of interim development regulations made under the Act.

Currently, interim development

regulations apply in all of the planning area to which they relate. This Bill would allow the minister, by regulation,

to apply interim development regulations in all or part of the planning area.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and

House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

Section 34 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000 is amended by adding immediately

after subsection (2) the following:

(3) Interim development regulations made under

this

section may apply in all or in part of the planning area as specified by

the minister in the regulations.
