OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Acting President of the Executive Council dated December 3, 2009, and pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective December 21, 2009: (

a) revoke the appointment of Cheryl Doiron as Deputy Minister of Health; (

b) revoke the appointment of Kevin McNamara as Acting Deputy Minister of Health; (

c) appoint Kevin McNamara as Deputy Minister of Health; (

d) designate Kevin McNamara as deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

e) fix and determine the salary of Kevin McNamara to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister to the Office of the Premier; (

f) direct that Kevin McNamara shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (

g) designate Kevin McNamara to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
