ANNEXE 15.0.1 MOIS DU PATRIMOINE ASIATIQUE

WHEREAS the history of people of Asian origin in Manitoba stretches back to the 1800s; AND

WHEREAS people from all regions of Asia have settled in cities, towns and rural areas across Manitoba; Attendu : que l'histoire des personnes d'origine asiatique au Manitoba remonte aux années 1800; que des personnes provenant de partout en Asie se sont établies dans les villes et les régions rurales du Manitoba; 1

AND

WHEREAS Asian Canadians have enhanced the diversity of Manitoba by introducing a wide and rich variety of languages, cultures and traditions to the province; AND

WHEREAS Asian Canadians have become an integral part of the social, cultural, economic and political fabric of Manitoba; AND

WHEREAS Asian Canadians have made significant contributions to the growth, development and prosperity of Manitoba; AND

WHEREAS the Senate of Canada designated May as Asian Heritage Month in 2001; AND

WHEREAS Asian Heritage Month will provide an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the long and rich history of Asian Canadians in Manitoba and their achievements and contributions to the province; que la richesse des langues, cultures et traditions des Canadiens d'origine asiatique a renforcé la diversité du Manitoba; qu'ils font désormais
