Statute: Public Highways Act Expropriation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Public Works dated June 9, 2025, and pursuant to

Section 18 of

Chapter 371 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Highways Act , and

Section 80 of

Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act , is pleased to: (

a) extinguish the right of the public to use that portion of the public highway, identified as Parcel B and a portion of PID 15230089, located at or near Young Street, Grand Lake Road, Cape Breton County, more particularly described in

Schedule “A” and as shown on

Schedule “B” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

b) authorize the conveyance of the parcels of surplus land, Parcel B and a portion of PID 15230089, described in

Schedule “A” and as shown on

Schedule “B” to Wendy MacDonald and Patrick Joseph Baker and to Kimberly and George Boudreau of Grand Lake Road, Cape Breton County, for the nominal consideration of $1.00; (

c) authorize the Minister of Public Works to make and execute a Deed of Conveyance in such form as the Minister determines to effect the conveyance of the land; and (

d) authorize the Minister of Public Works to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
