Order in Council 957/2019

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas eight positions of Special Advisor, Agent-General were established by Order in Council 956/2019, dated June 20, 2019;

And

whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council will appoint individuals to the positions of Special Advisor, Agent-General;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of advisors who serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities:

Each individual appointed to the position of Special Advisor, Agent-General, shall be entitled to the following remuneration:

Remuneration

Base remuneration of such amount as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine;

An annual payment of ten percent of the base remuneration in lieu of pension;

Medical, dental and extended insured benefits, excluding pension, equivalent to those applicable to Senior Economic Officers working abroad on behalf of Ontario.

Expenses

Reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the duties of the Special Advisor, Agent-General in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and other applicable directives.

Provision of applicable allowances and premiums, including relocation and accommodation, equivalent to those applicable to Senior Economic Officers working abroad on behalf of Ontario.
