OIC Text: \x09The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated February 28, 2007, and: \x09(a)\x09pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act, is pleased to authorize the Minister of Natural Resources to: \x09\x09(i)\x09purchase on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia the lands for the respective appraised market values, detailed on

Schedule "A", said lands being more particularly shown on Appendices "1" to "4", both the

schedule and appendices attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, having a total of 466.08 hectares for total purchase price of $1,195,000.00, from Bowater Mersey Paper Company Limited, having its head office in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, its heirs, executors, successors or assigns. The purchase is subject to the condition that Bowater Mersey Paper Company Limited, its heirs, executors, successors or assigns, be able to certify title to this land in a manner deemed sufficient by the Department of Justice, and; \x09\x09(ii)\x09execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order; and \x09(b)\x09pursuant to

Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act, is pleased to: \x09\x09(i)\x09approve the expropriation by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia of lands for the respective appraised market values detailed on

Schedule "B", said lands being more particularly shown on Appendices "5" to "29", both the

schedule and appendices attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, having a total of 9583.62 hectares for a total compensation of $26,157,108.00, from Bowater Mersey Paper Company Limited, having its head office in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, its heirs, executors, successors or assigns, said expropriation being for a public purpose, namely for the conservation of land having recreational, coastal and inland water frontage, heritage, cultural and ecological significance for the benefit of future generations of Nova Scotians, and; \x09\x09(ii)\x09direct that this Order or a copy certified by the Clerk of the Executive Council to be a true copy hereof shall be a Certificate of Approval within the meaning of clause 11(1)(

e) of

Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act, and; \x09\x09(iii)\x09authorize the Minister of Justice to prepare and have executed such documents as may be required to achieve the purposes of this Order.
