Mr. Speaker: Hon. Members, first of all, welcome back. I know that everybody is anxious to get going here in Victoria, but I'm sure everybody worked extremely hard in their constituencies throughout the province. We'll be down to work here.

Hon. S. Point (Lieutenant-Governor): Pray be seated. I'm going to sit down.
Mr. Speaker, Members of the Legislative Assembly, in closing this third session of the 38th parliament of British Columbia, I wish to commend you on the accomplishments of the past year. The session has seen the passage of measures of wide-ranging and significant importance to the people of our province.
Hon. Members, on behalf of all British Columbians, I wish to express my appreciation for the care and attention you have given to your deliberations. I now relieve you of your legislative duties. Just don't go too far away. That's all. [Laughter.]
His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor retired from the chamber.

Hon. W. Oppal: Hon. Speaker, Members of the Legislative Assembly, it is His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor's will and pleasure that this Legislative Assembly be prorogued until two o'clock today, and this Legislative Assembly is hereby prorogued accordingly.
Mr. Speaker: Hon. Members, this House stands adjourned until two o'clock this afternoon.
