B.C. Reg. 149/2007, deposited June 1, 2007, pursuant to the FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS ACT [Section 289]. Order in Council 335/2007, approved and ordered May 30, 2007.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective June 1, 2007, the regulations listed in the attached

schedule are amended as set out in that schedule.

Schedule

Insurance Company Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Regulation

1 The Insurance Company Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 84/91, is amended in the title by striking out "Motor".

Section 1 is amended

(

a) in the definition of "action" by striking out "automobile" and substituting "vehicle",

(

b) by repealing the definition of "motor vehicle liability policy", and

(

c) by adding the following

definitions:

"certificate" has the same meaning as in the Insurance (Vehicle) Act ;

"policy" has the same meaning as in the Insurance (Vehicle) Act ;

"third party liability insurance coverage" has the same meaning as in the Insurance (Vehicle) Act ;

"vehicle insurance" has the same meaning as in the Insurance (Vehicle) Act ;

"vehicle liability policy" has the same meaning as in the Insurance (Vehicle) Act ; .

Section 2 is amended

(

a) in subsection (1) by striking out "extraprovincial insurance company" and substituting "extraprovincial insurance corporation",

(

b) in subsection (2) by striking out "contract of automobile insurance" and substituting "policy evidencing a contract of vehicle insurance", by striking out "extraprovincial corporation" and substituting "extraprovincial insurance corporation" and by adding "that provides third party liability insurance coverage," after "British Columbia",

(

c) in subsection (2) (

b) by striking out "motor vehicle liability insurance policy" and substituting "vehicle liability policy",

(

d) in subsection (2) (

c) by striking out "contract of automobile insurance" and substituting "vehicle liability policy issued",

(

e) in subsection (2) (c) (

i) by striking out "contract, or" and substituting "contract, and",

(

f) in subsection (2) (c) (ii) by striking out "contract of automobile insurance" and substituting "certificate of vehicle insurance issued",

(

g) in subsection (3) by striking out "extraprovincial corporation" and substituting "extraprovincial insurance corporation" and by striking out "automobile" and substituting "vehicle",

(

h) in subsection (3) (

b) by striking out "motor vehicle liability" and substituting "vehicle liability",

(

i) in subsection (3) (

c) and (c) (ii) by striking out "automobile" and substituting "vehicle", and

(

j) in subsection (3) (c) (

i) by striking out "contract, or" and substituting "contract, and".

Insurance Licensing Exemptions Regulation

4 The Insurance Licensing Exemptions Regulation, B.C. Reg. 328/90, is amended in

section 1

(

a) by repealing the definition of "automobile" and substituting the following:

"vehicle" has the same meaning as in the Insurance (Vehicle) Act ; , and

(

b) in the definition of "vehicle warranty insurance" by striking out "automobile insurance" and substituting "vehicle insurance".

Section 2 (1) (f) (

i) is amended by striking out "automobile insurance" and substituting "vehicle insurance".
