OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated May 8, 2013, and pursuant to

Section 10 of

Chapter 254 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Libraries Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Leah Hamilton and G. Douglas Vaisey, both of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax), as members of the Halifax Regional Library Board each for a term of three years commencing July 2, 2013; and (

b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Leah Hamilton and G. Douglas Vaisey in their capacity as members of the Halifax Regional Library Board and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
