Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated April 20, 2022, and pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , subsection 10(1) of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , is pleased, effective May 1, 2022, to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Kelliann Dean as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs; (

b) appoint Geoff MacLellan as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs; (

c) designate Geoff MacLellan as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (

d) fix and determine the salary of Geoff MacLellan to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; and (

e) direct that Geoff MacLellan shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head, including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier.
