Statute: Workers' Compensation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated May 3, 2006, and pursuant to Sections 238 and 239 of

Chapter 10 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1994-95, the Workers' Compensation Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint the following persons as full-time appeal commissioners of the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal, each for a term of office extending from November 1, 2006 up to and including March 31, 2008, subject to dismissal for just cause: Leanne Rodwell Hayes of Windsor Junction, Halifax Regional Municipality; Alison Hickey of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Glen Johnson of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Louanne Labelle of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; Gary H. Levine of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Alexander C. W. MacIntosh of Truro, Colchester County; K.

Andrew MacNeil of Antigonish, Antigonish County; Michelle R. Margolian of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; David S. Pearson of Chelsea, Region of Queens Municipality; Brian E. Sharp of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; and Andrea L. Smillie of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

b) fix the remuneration of Leanne Rodwell Hayes, Alison Hickey, Glen Johnson, Louanne Labelle, Gary H. Levine, Alexander C. W. MacIntosh, K. Andrew MacNeil, Michelle R. Margolian, David S. Pearson, Brian E. Sharp and Andrea L. Smillie, as full-time appeal commissioners in accordance with a salary range equivalent to the Civil Service Management Compensation Pay Plan (MCP 23) in the range of $58,942.78 to $76,625.64, subject to all applicable enactments, regulations and policies of the Public Service Commission with respect to the Management Compensation Pay Plan (MCP 23); (

c) order that Civil Service benefits be extended to Leanne Rodwell Hayes, Alison Hickey, Glen Johnson, Louanne Labelle, Gary H. Levine, Alexander C. W. MacIntosh, K. Andrew MacNeil, Michelle R. Margolian, David S. Pearson, Brian E. Sharp and Andrea L. Smillie, as full-time appeal commissioners of the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal on the same terms and conditions as they are extended to members of the Civil Service; and (

d) revoke the appointment of Katherine Carrigan as a full-time appeal commissioner.
