An Act to Amend the Ambulance Services Act Loi modifiant la

Loi sur les services d’ambulance Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as fol- lows: Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et du consentement de l’Assem- blée législative du Nouveau-Brunswick, décrète : 1

Section 1 of the Ambulance Services Act,

chapter A-7.3 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1990, is amended by repealing the definition “district”. 1 L’article 1 de la

section 18 the following: 7 La Loi est modifiée par l’adjonction après l’article 18 de ce qui suit : 18.1 The Minister shall not enter into an agreement with Ambulance New Brunswick Inc. unless the agreement is first approved by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, and Ambulance New Brunswick Inc. shall not enter into an agreement with any private operator with respect to the management and operation of ambulance services in the Province unless the agreement is first approved by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council. 18.1 Le Ministre ne peut conclure une entente avec Am- bulance Nouveau-Brunswick Inc. à moins que l’entente n’ait été approuvée au préalable par le lieutenant- gouverneur en conseil, et Ambulance Nouveau- Brunswick Inc. ne peut conclure avec un exploitant du secteur privé, une entente ayant pour objet la gestion et l’exploitation de services d’ambulance dans la province à moins que l’entente n’ait été approuvée au préalable par le lieutenant-gouverneur en conseil. 1

Section 1 The existing provision is as follows:

Section 3 The existing provision is as follows:

Article 3 Texte de la disposition actuelle : 7(1) An Ambulance Services Co-Ordinating Committee shall pre- pare, in consultation with the Director, and shall submit to the Minister, an ambulance services plan for its district. 7(1) Un Comité coordonnateur des services d’ambulance doit pré- parer en consultation avec le Directeur un plan directeur pour sa région et il doit le soumettre au Ministre. 7(2) The plan shall be based on information and recommendations in relation to 7(2) Le plan directeur est fondé sur des renseignements et des re- commandations relativement (

Section 4 The existing provision is as follows:

Article 4 Texte de la disposition actuelle : 8(1) The Minister may vary from time to time a plan that has been approved under

section 7. 8(1) Le Ministre peut changer à l’occasion un plan directeur qui a été approuvé en vertu de l’article 7. 8(2) The Minister shall not vary a plan without first considering the recommendations of the Ambulance Services Co-Ordinating Commit- tee for the district to which the plan relates. 8(2) Le Ministre ne peut changer un plan directeur sans avoir au préalable pris en considération les recommandations du Comité coor- donnateur des services d’ambulance de la région à laquelle le plan directeur s’applique. 8(3) An Ambulance Services Co-Ordinating Committee shall bring to the attention of the Minister any circumstances which, in its opinion, should lead to a variation in the plan. 8(3) Le Comité coordonnateur des services d’ambulance doit porter à l’attention du Ministre toute circonstance qui de son avis, pourrait amener une révision du plan directeur. 8(4) An Ambulance Services Co-Ordinating Committee shall meet at least once each year. 8(4) Le Comité coordonnateur des services d’ambulance doit se réu- nir au moins une fois par année.

Section 5 The existing provision is as follows:

Article 5 Texte de la disposition actuelle : 9(1) When the Minister has approved a plan for a district, the Min- ister may enter an agreement with one or more regional health author- ities in that district in relation to the provision of ambulance services in the district. 9(1) Lorsque le Ministre a approuvé un plan directeur pour une ré- gion, il peut conclure une entente avec une ou plusieurs des régies régionales de la santé de la région relativement à la fourniture de ser- vices d’ambulance dans la région. 9(2) In an agreement under this

Section 6 The existing provision is as follows:
