CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Human Tissue Gift Act (Assented to May 11, 1983) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Human Tissue Gift Amendment Act, 1983. Rev. Stat. c.H-15,

section amended The following subsection is added after subsection 12(2) of The Human Tissue Gift Act: “

(3) Where a consent in writing: (

a) authorizes the removal of specified tissue from a person named in the consent; (

b) authorizes that the tissue to be removed be used for a use of the kind authorized by this Act; (

c) authorizes a person named or otherwise specified to disclose or give to any other person any information or document that would identify the person in respect of whom the authorization made under clause (

a) had been given; subsection (1) does not prohibit the person named or otherwise specified under clause (

c) from disclosing or giving the information or document where that person has reason to believe that the disclosure would result or tend to result in the tissue being put to a use of the kind authorized by this Act”. UNEDITED REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN Printed by the authority of THE QUEEN’S PRINTER
