CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Provincial Court Act (Assented to July 9, 1982) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Provincial Court Amendment Act, 1982. Rev. Stat. (Supp.) c.P-30.1 The Provincial Court Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended Clause 2(

c) is amended by adding “and an associate chief judge” after “chief judge”.

Section amended Subsection 10(4) is repealed and the following substituted: “

(4) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint one or more judges as associate chief judges of the court and may at any time revoke the appointment of a judge as an-associate chief judge. “

(5) An associate chief judge shall perform those functions delegated to him by the chief judge. “

(6) The Lieutenant Governor in Council shall fix the salary of the chief judge, an associate chief judge or any judge designated as chief judge under subsection (3)”.

Section amended The following clause is added after clause 11(c): “(c.1) delegate any functions that he considers appropriate to an associate chief judge”. Coming into force This Act or any provision of this Act comes into force on a day or days to be fixed by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor.
