OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries dated October 28, 2004, and pursuant to
Section 7 of
Chapter 22 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Bill Biggs of RR#1 Wolfville, Kings County, as a member and Chair of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing November 18, 2004; (
b) appoint Fred Hamilton of RR#5 Truro, Colchester County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing November 18, 2004; (
c) appoint Stephen Logan of RR#6 Amherst, Cumberland County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing November 18, 2004; (
d) appoint James Bremner of Falmouth, Hants County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing November 18, 2004; (
e) appoint Larry Hudson of Granville Ferry, Annapolis County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing November 18, 2004; (
f) determine the rate of remuneration for the members of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission to be $50 per meeting plus travel expenses in accordance with government policy; (
g) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above noted persons and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case; and (
h) determine, as a condition of their appointment, Bill Biggs, Fred Hamilton, Stephen Logan, James Bremner and Larry Hudson shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and
Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
