HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

This Bill requires certain treatment of Brunswick Point Crown lands by the government.

Definition

1 In this Act, "Crown land" has the same meaning as in the Land Act .

Preserving Brunswick Point lands

2 Brunswick Point Crown land, within the agricultural land reserve, which has

(

a) a farm use covenant, restricting lands to agricultural use, and

(

b) a conservation covenant, conserving the lands for soil-based agriculture and migratory bird habitat and resting grounds,

in perpetuity, must be sold back to the original farm families or be offered to Delta farmers with long-term leases.

Commencement

3 This Act comes into force on the date it receives Royal Assent.

Explanatory Note

This Bill requires certain treatment of Brunswick Point Crown lands by the government.
