An Act Respecting The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John WHEREAS The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John prays that it be enacted as hereinafter set forth; THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Bruns- wick, enacts as follows: 1 All property, real and personal, of every nature, kind and description, (

a) situate in, upon or about or appertaining to what comprises or comprehends the Roman Catholic parish known as The Ascension, Beaver Brook Station or Beaverbrook Bridge, in the County of Northumberland and now vested in L’Évêque catholique romain de Bathurst, or (

b) which is held by any person or persons, firm, cor- poration or association (excepting as by law otherwise provided or by conveyance otherwise intended) in trust for the said parish or any church, pious foundation, re- ligious, charitable or educational institution, hall or building within the said parish, is hereby vested in the corporation of The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John.

PROJET DE LOI Loi concernant The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John ATTENDU que The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John demande l’adoption des dispositions qui suivent; À CES CAUSES, Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le con- sentement de l’Assemblée législative du Nouveau- Brunswick, édicte : 1 Sont dévolus à The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John, en sa qualité de personne morale, tous les biens réels et personnels, de quelque nature qu’ils soient, qui remplis- sent l’une ou l’autre des conditions suivantes :

a) ils sont situés dans les limites ou les environs de la paroisse catholique romaine appelée The Ascension, à Beaver Brook Station ou Beaverbrook Bridge, dans le comté de Northumberland, ou s’y rapportent, et appar- tiennent actuellement à l’Évêque catholique romain de Bathurst;

b) ils sont détenus en fiducie par une ou plusieurs personnes, une firme, une société ou une association quelconques (sous réserve d’autres dispositions d’une loi ou d’un acte de transport) au profit de la paroisse vi- sée à l’alinéa a) ou de toute autre église, fondation reli- gieuse, institution religieuse, caritative ou d’enseigne- ment, édifice ou bâtiment situés dans les limites de la paroisse. 2 Projet de loi Loi concernant The Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John Nothing herein contained shall affect or be construed to affect in any way or manner the rights of Her Majesty, her heirs or successors, or any debentures issued under the authority of any Act of the Legislature of New Brunswick by any Bishop within whose Diocese the said parish may at any time have been or, except as aforesaid, the private rights of any person or persons or any body politic or cor- porate whomsoever. 3 This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on January 3, 2009. 2 Ni la présente loi ni aucune interprétation qu’on puisse en donner ne saurait en rien porter atteinte aux droits de Sa Majesté, de ses héritiers et de ses successeurs, à des débentures émises sous le régime d’une loi de la Lé- gislature du Nouveau-Brunswick par l’évêque d’un dio- cèse auquel la paroisse était rattachée ou, sous réserve de ce qui précède, aux droits privés de toute personne physi- que ou morale. 3 La présente loi est réputée être entrée en vigueur le janvier 2009.
