I, Rich Coleman, Minister of Natural Gas Development and Minister Responsible for Housing and Deputy Premier, order that the Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation, B.C. Reg. 104/2004, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix.

Appendix

Section 2 (1) of the Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation, B.C. Reg. 104/2004, is amended

(

a) in the definition of “code” by striking out “ the current edition of a code or standard ” and substituting “ the applicable code or standard ” , and

(

b) by repealing the

definitions of “ CSA B51 ” and “ CSA B52 ” and substituting the following:

“CSA B51” means CSA Standard B51 Boiler, pressure vessel and pressure piping code;

“CSA B52” means CSA Standard B52 Mechanical refrigeration code; .

Section 1 of the

Schedule is amended by repealing paragraphs (a), (b), (

d) and (

f) and substituting the following:

(

a) ASME B31.1-2014 Power Piping;

(

b) ASME B31.3-2014 Process Piping;

(

d) ASME B31.9-2014 Building Services Piping;

(

f) ASME PTC 25-2014 Pressure Relief Devices.

Section 2 of the

Schedule is repealed and the following substituted:

2 The ANSI/NB-23 National Board Inspection Code 2013 Edition of the American National Standards Institute and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (ANSI/NB) is adopted.

Section 3 (

b) of the

Schedule is repealed and the following substituted:

(

b) API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Code: In-Service Inspection, Rating, Repair, and Alteration, Tenth Edition; .

Section 4 of the

Schedule is amended by striking out “ The following codes, standards or parts of a code or standard of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and American National Standards Institute (ASME/ANSI) are adopted: ” and substituting “ The following codes, standards or parts of a code or standard of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American National Standards Institute (ASME/ANSI), as applicable, are adopted: ” .

6 Sections 5 to 7 of the

Schedule are repealed and the following substituted:

5 The following codes, standards or parts of a code or standard of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) are adopted:

(

a) CSA B51-14 Boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping code;

(

b) CSA B52-13 Mechanical refrigeration code;

(

c) CSA N285.0-12/N285.6 Series-12 General requirements for pressure-retaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants/ Material Standards for reactor components for CANDU nuclear power plants, including Update No. 1.

6 The NFPA 85 Boiler and Combustion Systems Hazards Code 2015 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is adopted.

7 The Standards of the Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association (TEMA) Ninth Edition is adopted.

section is added to the Schedule:

8 The ANSI/CGA G-2.1-2014 Requirements for the Storage and Handling of Anhydrous Ammonia Sixth Edition of the American National Standards Institute and the Compressed Gas Association (ANSI/CGA) is adopted.
