ELECTION AMENDMENT ACT, 2016
This Bill would change the voting age in British Columbia to 16.
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as
follows:
Section 29 (
b) of the Election Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 106, is amended by striking out " 18 years of age " and substituting " 16 years of age ".
Section 31 of the Act is amended in paragraphs (1) (b) (
i) and (ii) by striking out " 18 years of age " and substituting " 16 years of age ".
Explanatory Note
This Bill would change the voting age in British Columbia to 16.
