AN ACT TO AMEND THE WIDOW'S PENSION ACT (Assented to , 1989) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as foUows: 1. The Widow's Pension Act is amended by this Act. 2. The title is amended by striking out Widows.

Section 1(

c) is repealed and the following is substituted: (c. 1) "she" means "she or he" as the case may be. (c) "her" means "her or him" as the case may be. 4.

Section 3(2)(

a) is repealed.

Section 5(b)(

i) is repealed. 6.

Section 4(3) is amended by deleting marital status. 7. Widow is struck out and person substituted wherever it occurs in the following provisions:

Section 4(1);

Section 7(2);

Section 7(3). 8. Widows is struck out wherever it occurs in the following provisions:

Explanatory Notes 1 This BiU wiU amend

Chapter w-7.5 of die StaUite of Alberta 1983. 2-8 This BiU removes references to marital status and widowhood from the Act.
