2007 c. 15 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION

CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Municipal Financing Corporation Act (Assented to April 26, 2007) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Municipal Financing Corporation Amendment Act, 2007. R.S.S. 1978, c.M-28 amended The Municipal Financing Corporation Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended Clause 2(

b) is repealed and the following substituted: “(b) ‘municipality’ includes: (

i) a board of education, and the conseil scolaire, within the meaning of The Education Act, 1995; and (ii) a regional health authority within the meaning of The Regional Health Services Act”.

Section amended

Section is amended: (

a) in the portion preceding clause (

a) by striking out “The

Interpretation Act ” and substituting “ The

Interpretation Act, 1995 ”; and (

b) by repealing clause (

f) and substituting the following: “(

f) lend moneys to municipalities; “(f.1) for the purposes of clause (f): (

i) enter into agreements with municipalities; (ii) purchase or otherwise acquire securities of municipalities; and (iii) hold, charge, pledge, hypothecate, transfer, realize on, sell or otherwise dispose of or deal with any securities of municipalities”.
