OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated September 20, 2017, and pursuant to Sections 4B and 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act ,

section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , and all other authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective October 1, 2017: (

a) create the Office of Strategy Management; (

b) direct that the Office of Strategy Management shall be presided over by the Honourable Stephen McNeil, a member of the Executive Council who may be referred to as the Minister of Strategy Management; (

c) appoint Bernard F. Miller as the Deputy Minister of the Office of Strategy Management; (

d) designate Bernard F. Miller as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (

e) fix and determine the salary of Bernard F. Miller to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister to the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; and (

f) direct that Bernard F. Miller shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier.
