OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Community Services dated April 21, 2010, and pursuant to Sections 21, 22, 23 and 24 of

Chapter 211 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Housing Act, is pleased, effective December 1, 2010, to (

a) revoke Order in Council 97-152 dated March 4, 1997 which established the Annapolis Valley Housing Authority; (

b) revoke Order in Council 97-155 dated March 4, 1997 which established the South Shore Housing Authority; (

c) revoke Order in Council 97-156 dated March 4, 1997 which established the Tri-County Housing Authority; (

d) amalgamate the Annapolis Valley Housing Authority, the South Shore Housing Authority and the Tri-County Housing Authority and constitute a body corporate to be a regional housing authority known as the Western Regional Housing Authority; (

e) prescribe that the present members of the Annapolis Valley Housing Authority, the South Shore Housing Authority and the Tri-County Housing Authority shall serve the balance of the terms of their current appointments as members of the Board of the Western Regional Housing Authority; (

f) transfer all of the assets of the Annapolis Valley Housing Authority, the South Shore Housing Authority and the Tri-County Housing Authority to the Western Regional Housing Authority; and (

g) all rights, privileges and obligations of the Annapolis Valley Housing Authority, the South Shore Housing Authority and the Tri-County Housing Authority hereby become the rights, privileges and obligations of the Western Regional Housing Authority, and all rights, title and interest of the Annapolis Valley Housing Authority, the South Shore Housing Authority and the Tri-County Housing Authority are hereby vested in the Western Regional Housing Authority.
