OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated March 1, 2001, and pursuant to
Section 4 of
Chapter 348 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Police Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Dr. Daniel N. Paul of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Police Commission for a term of office of three years commencing March 30, 2001; and (
b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Dr. Daniel N. Paul and indemnify him from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
