Statute: Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation (Nova Scotia) Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration and the Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables dated December 3, 2021, and pursuant to Sections 146, 202A and 202DV of

Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1987, the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation (Nova Scotia) Act , is pleased, effective on and after January 1, 2022, to: (

a) repeal the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Area Diving Operations Safety Transitional Regulations , N.S. Reg. 230/2014, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2014-532 dated December 22, 2014; (

b) repeal the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Marine Installations and Structures Occupational Health and Safety Transitional Regulations , N.S. Reg. 229/2014, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2014-532 dated December 22, 2014; (

c) repeal the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Marine Installations and Structures Transitional Regulations , N.S. Reg. 228/2014, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2014-532 dated December 22, 2014; (

d) make new regulations respecting occupational health and safety in the offshore area in the form set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

e) pursuant to subsection 4(3) of

Chapter 393 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Regulations Act , dispense with the publication in the Royal Gazette

Part II of the regulations respecting occupational health and safety in the offshore area as set forth in

Schedule “A” because of their length; and (

f) amend the Nova Scotia Offshore Area Certificate of Fitness Regulations , N.S. Reg. 4/96, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 96-20 dated January 9, 1996, to make related and consequential updates and to ensure consistency with the new regulations, in the manner set forth in

Schedule “B” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation.
