OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated May 30, 2019, and pursuant to Sections 7, 25J, 25M, and 84 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , and

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , is pleased to, effective June 3, 2019: (

a) revoke the appointment of Melissa MacKinnon as Associate Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Communications Nova Scotia and Associate Deputy Minister of Communications Nova Scotia; (

b) revoke the appointment of Tracey Taweel as Deputy Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage; (

c) revoke the appointment of Lynn Hartwell as Deputy Minister of Community Services; (

d) revoke the appointment of Nancy MacLellan as Associate Deputy Minister of Community Services; (

e) revoke the appointment of Denise M. Perret, Q.C. as Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (

f) revoke the appointment of Tracey Taweel as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration; (

g) revoke the appointment of Sandra Cascadden as Associate Deputy Minister of Internal Services; (

h) revoke the appointment of Jeff Conrad as Deputy Minister of Internal Services; (

i) revoke the appointment of Tracey Barbrick as Associate Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education; (

j) revoke the appointment of Kelliann Dean as Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs; (

k) revoke the appointment of Joanne Munro as Chief Executive Officer of Service Nova Scotia; (

l) revoke the appointment of Scott Farmer as Associate Deputy Minister of Service Nova Scotia; (

m) appoint Justin Huston as Deputy Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage; (

n) appoint Tracey Taweel as Deputy Minister of Community Services; (

o) appoint Kelliann Dean as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration; (

p) appoint Nancy MacLellan as Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing; (

q) appoint Joanne Munro as Deputy Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services; (

r) appoint Dr. Thomas Marrie as Acting Deputy Minister of Department of Health and Wellness; (

s) appoint Lynn Hartwell as Deputy Minister without portfolio until June 30, 2019; (

t) appoint Jeff Conrad as Deputy Minister without portfolio until July 31, 2019; (

u) appoint Donna MacDonald as Associate Deputy Minister of Communications Nova Scotia; (

v) appoint Melissa MacKinnon as Associate Deputy Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage; (

w) appoint Tracey Barbrick as Associate Deputy Minister of Community Services; (

x) appoint Sandra Cascadden as Associate Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness and prescribe that her duties as Associate Deputy Minister shall be responsibility for health information technology, including the One Person One Record project; (

y) appoint Ava Czapalay as Associate Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education; (

z) appoint Catherine Berliner as Associate Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing; (aa) appoint Natasha Clarke as Associate Deputy Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services and prescribe that her duties as Associate Deputy Minister shall be responsibility for information management, including digital service delivery, and declare that she may be referred to as Chief Digital Officer; (bb) appoint Scott Farmer as Associate Deputy Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services; (cc) designate Catherine Berliner, Natasha Clarke, Ava Czapalay, Donna MacDonald and Dr.

Thomas Marrie as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (dd) direct that Catherine Berliner, Natasha Clarke, Ava Czapalay, Donna MacDonald and Dr. Thomas Marrie shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head, including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (ee) fix and determine the salary of Justin Huston, Nancy MacLellan and Dr.

Thomas Marrie to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; and (ff) fix and determine the salary of Catherine Berliner, Natasha Clarke, Ava Czapalay and Donna MacDonald to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Associate Deputy Ministers.
