B.C. Reg. 86/2025 , deposited June 20, 2025, under the EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE ACT [section 35 (2)] and EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ACT [section 26 (2)]. Order in Council 289/2025, approved and ordered June 20, 2025.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that

(

a) the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is amended as set out in the attached

Schedule 1,

(

b) the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is amended as set out in the attached

Schedule 2,

(

c) effective July 1, 2025, the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is amended as set out in the attached

Schedule 3, and

(

d) effective July 1, 2025, the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is amended as set out in the attached

Schedule 4.

Schedule 1

1 Sections 2.1 to 2.7 of the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, are repealed.

Section 11 (1) (g),

section 1 (a) (vii) of

Schedule B and

section 6 (

f) of

Schedule D are amended by striking out " , 8.2 [BC harmonized sales tax credit] ".

Section 58 (5) is amended

(

a) by adding " or " to the end of paragraph (b), and

(

b) by striking out " , or " at the end of paragraph (c).

Section 59 (4) is amended

(

a) in paragraph (

a) by striking out " the family unit, " and substituting " the family unit; ", and

(

b) in paragraph (

b) by striking out " the family unit, and " and substituting " the family unit; ".

Section 66.4 (4) is amended by striking out " person ceases be a main " and substituting " person ceases to be a main ".

Section 82 (1) (

b) is amended by striking out " Child Care Subsidy Act " and substituting " Early Learning and Child Care Act ".

Section 87 (4) (

a) is amended by striking out " 5th business day " and substituting " fifth business day ".

Section 8 (1) of

Schedule B is amended by repealing the definition of "day care costs" and substituting the following:

"day care costs" means the difference between a student’s actual day care costs and the maximum amount of child care benefit that is available under the Early Learning and Child Care Act to a family unit matching the student’s family unit; .

Schedule 2

Section 1 (1) of the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is amended in the definition of "recurring supplement" by adding the following paragraph:

(f.1)

section 67 [nutritional supplement] ; .

2 Sections 2.01 to 2.07 are repealed.

Section 56 (5) is amended

(

a) by adding " or " to the end of paragraph (b), and

(

b) by striking out " , or " at the end of paragraph (c).

Section 10 (1) (g),

section 1 (a) (vii) of

Schedule B and

section 6 (

f) of

Schedule D is amended by striking out " , 8.2 [BC harmonized sales tax credit] ".

Section 8 (1) of

Schedule B is amended by repealing the definition of "day care costs" and substituting the following:

"day care costs" means the difference between a student’s actual day care costs and the maximum amount of child care benefit that is available under the Early Learning and Child Care Act to a family unit matching the student’s family unit; .

Section 11 (1) of the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is amended by adding the following paragraphs:

(hh.3) a Canada disability benefit payment made under

section 5 of the Canada Disability Benefit Act ;

(yy.3) money paid or payable from the recognition fund that is established by the government of British Columbia in relation to the forcible removal of children of the Sons of Freedom Doukhobors, and detention at the New Denver facility, between 1953 and 1959; .

Section 1 (

a) of

Schedule B is amended by adding the following subparagraphs:

(xxxi.3) a Canada disability benefit payment made under

section 5 of the Canada Disability Benefit Act (Canada);

(l.3) money paid or payable from the recognition fund that is established by the government of British Columbia in relation to the forcible removal of children of the Sons of Freedom Doukhobors, and detention at the New Denver facility, between 1953 and 1959; .

Section 6 of

Schedule D is amended by adding the following paragraphs:

(nn.3) a Canada disability benefit payment made under

section 5 of the Canada Disability Benefit Act (Canada);
