B.C. Reg. 65/2016 , deposited March 4, 2016, under the LIQUOR CONTROL AND LICENSING ACT [section 84 (2) (g.1) and (l.1)]. Order in Council 141/2016, approved and ordered March 3, 2016.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Liquor Control and Licensing Regulation, B.C. Reg. 244/2002, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

Section 48 of the Liquor Control and Licensing Regulation, B.C. Reg. 244/2002, is repealed and the following substituted:

Room service

(1) This

section applies to a licensed establishment that

(

a) is the subject of a food primary licence, a liquor primary licence, a liquor primary club licence, a brewery lounge endorsement, a distillery lounge endorsement or a winery lounge endorsement, and

(

b) is located in the same building as a business offering overnight accommodation to registered guests.

(2) Subject to limitation by the general manager, a licensed establishment described in subsection (1) may do the following:

(

a) despite sections 9 (1) (b), 11 (2) (

c) and 18 (3), sell and serve liquor to registered guests in their rooms during any period that room service meals are available to those guests;

(

b) supply or operate a minibar service through which liquor may be purchased at any time in guest rooms.
