EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend

section 13 of

the Pensions Funding Act to remove

the requirement that the annual financial statements of the Province of Newfoundland

and Labrador Pooled Pension Fund be submitted to the Lieutenant-Governor in

Council. The requirements for tabling the

audited financial statements under the Transparency

and Accountability Act will continue to apply.

Report and audit of fund

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and

House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

as amended

1. (1) Subsection 13(1) of the Pensions Funding Act is repealed.

(2) Subsection 13(2) of the Act is amended by

striking out the words "submitted under subsection (1) and there shall be

attached" and substituting the words "of the fund and attach".

(3) Subsection 13(3) of the Act is repealed.

(4) Subsection 13(4) of the Act is amended by

striking out the words "submitted under subsection (1)" and

substituting the words "of the fund".
